Physical Conditions
The arid mountains of Hyclaci are cavernous and seemly barren to the naked eye. Much of the population resides in the canyons where a complex network of cities has thrived by avoiding the relentless sun during the day. As the sun sets, the Pyroc rise for their celebrations of light and fire.
Evenings in Hyclaci are filled with fire dances dedicated to worship of the elements as they seek to master its energy through obtaining artefacts. The priestess Kelesa leads the Pyroc in their celebrations with great generosity and revelry.
Sapient Species
Pyroc [ Pir-Rok ]
The Pyroc are a humanoid species of Sorcerers who live in the cavernous canyons of Hyclaci in an elaborate network of cities. They have obtained elemental magic from the elemental shards left by the remnants of Ember Rule. To harness this magic, they must obtain enough shards to emanate a spark.
One revered career of the Pyroc are Artefact Miners. Many families work in solitary while mining the back walls of their dwellings in the off chance they will unearth an invaluable artefact. Many rumours talk of untold abilities originating from magic of the old worlds that have yet to be found.
The costume of the Pyroc resemble that of armour, ready for battle - especially as this race is prone to challenges of power. It is customary for family units with less shards to elect a representative who will be offered the smaller shards to collect a greater power. These communities form in exchange for mutual interests and protection.
The Head of state
The Pyroc unanimously nominated the Sorceress Kelesa as ruler of Hyclaci. Raised as the daughter of a miner who uncovered the valuable artefact piece required for The Ritual of The Ancients. Knowing that such a find would put her family in mortal danger outside of Hyclaci, her father bestowed the artefact to his daughter and the Pyroc in kind bestowed protection on his whole family.
With Kelesa’s smart and intelligent negotiation, she was able to obtain immunity from the other Escen Realms and secure her century invitation to the ritual.
The Pyroc have affirmed their promise to keep Kelesa safety providing her with the option to rule Hyclaci with a kind yet stern hand. Kelesa offers protection to lesser powerful families by swiftly punishing challenger who use violence and rules with the mythological forgiveness their god Ebon would grant.
Her rule has not been selfless however - overpowering your enemies may on the surface seem honourable. That is until you realise any seized artefacts become property of Kelesa once forfeited.
