Physical Conditions
Lok Agra is a gathering of interconnected grottos grouped in the South West of Exordium. Interconnecting freshwater systems help sustain the life of the Saphines, the water dwelling Lok Yunine. Fresh water channels create a clear channel surrounding the grottos that create a habitable environment for water and land-dwelling creatures alike.
The Lavodin build their homes in the caves of the grottos and live in small family units, with approx. 4-5 clan in each grotto. The fresh water that originates from underground springs create impressive waterfalls that wash through the centre of most grottos creating an area for fishing and moss-covered areas for leisure.
The sun seldom penetrates the ferns and foliage that creates a cool canopy over the environment, and as each grotto is interconnected it’s not difficult for the inhabitants of Lok Agra to travel between. The land is bound by the harsh saltwater seas, so it makes travel for Saphines to other continents difficult.
Sapient Species
Lok Yunine [ shee yoo-nain ]
The sapient species of Lok Agra are split dependent of their adaptability to the environment they live in. The Lok Yunine are closely related to the Sidhe Yunine as they originate from the same land mass. They are thought to be the true natives of the old Terra Bayou that existed before the Enola Rapture.
As a species the Lok Yunine are close to both land and water. They hold great respect for the balance of elements and believe that there is strength in duality. For this reason they hold both lineages of the Lok Yunine with great respect.
Cultural beliefs state any creation or motivation is based in both emotion and logic, no decision can be advanced without taking both into consideration. As with other Yunine races, the Lok Yunine don’t have a clear gender but preference dictates their preference of appearance.
Genetically both reproduce with each however their offspring generally has one preference for either living on land or water so it’s not common to reproduce within sub lineages as this sometimes causes offspring to be either be land or water bound. Such outcomes requires the upbringing of their offspring to be carried out predominantly by one of the parental lines.
Lavodin [ lah vo-den ]
Lavodin inhabit the grottos of Lok Agra and build their homes within the caves that have been cutout by years of water movement. They resemble the Drenesh in appearance however are greener in tone and silver in refraction.
The Lavodin live closely with the moss and fern canopies and are earthy in appearance. Almost resembling the stone and moss their surroundings dominate, the Lavodin complexion of that is grey and green in tone but combine to create a shimmer that is both enticing and beautiful to those who encounter them.
The Lavodin are tasked with anything that needs to be completed on land to help maintain balance between land and water.
Saphines [ sah fee-ans ]
The Saphines inhabit the fresh waters of Lok Agra and as such appear aquatic in nature. They are adept to catching the freshwater fish that inhabit the ponds and streams of the grottos. The Saphines usually live in independent family units in the pools of each grotto helping to support the families of the Lavodin, and usually exist in groups of 6-8 in family units. As with all Yunine they don’t ascribe to the idea of gender and assign parental roles based on who is best to support based on personal preference and strengths.
Their skin is translucent in nature and have illuminating properties that help them to see under the deeper parts of the pools at the base of each grotto. As they feed on the moss of the grottos they are in trade with the Lavodin for freshwater fish and natural resources.
The Head of State
Fenian Alok is a kind and rare Lok Yunine, of both Lavodin and Saphines lineage. He is seen to have the interest of all lineages in mind when he makes decisions that impact the societies and its for this reason he is best trusted to make decisions on behalf of those who reside within Lok Agra.
Fair and strong, his philosophy of treating all with respect and kindness guides most choices. If confronted with threats to his motherland, he does not suffer fools and holds his ground without waiver. Always wanting to keep all included he loves to share his culture.
While sharing experiences helps to create community, Fenian may still run into adversaries. He’s still a peacekeeper at heart.
After his father Fentoli Alok died, the responsibility of ruling was passed on to Fenian at the young age of 100 years. Once Fentoli left the living, Fenian was designated as diplomatic representative. Fenian is only 45 centuries old so new to this responsibility with less than 3 centuries experience.
